Afterclap – an unexpected repercussion happening after an event is supposed to have passed. By nature, afterclap is like a surprise that shows up as an unforeseen “clap”.
Designers often operate without fully understanding the public’s reactions or “afterclaps” to their designs. And such, the results of graphic design and how it infiltrates every aspect of society have truly impacted, sometimes unexpectedly, every sector of the planet. While some of the impacts of graphic design are subtle, other elements change society at the core and resonate in peoples’ mind.
Afterclap, the 29th Art Thesis Exhibition, visually engages graphic design that appears chaotic or random, while encompassing a surprisingly more satisfying unexpected happening.
